La Fée Parisienne à Dubaï et Abu Dhabi
Du 6 au 11 juin dernier, George Rowley est allé à Dubaï et Abu Dhabi faire la promotion de la Fée Absinthe Parisienne. La visite a été organisée par Focus Brands fournisseur pour MMI, société Marchande Maritime Internationale, le plus grand distributeur des Émirats Arabes Unis.
L'entreprise de distribution MMI, apporte, notamment, aux gouvernements la garantie nécessaire des autorisations légales pour les importations de liqueurs fines vers les ambassades, les consulats et les ministères de la défense basés au Moyen-Orient et en Inde.
C'est Ulrich Volkel-Nija qui travaille pour Focus Brand, qui avait organisé les "Bar-trainings". George s'est ainsi rendu dans différents bars à Dubaï et Abu Dhabi à la rencontre des personnes qui y travaillent pour expliquer ce qu'est l'absinthe, sa fabrication et son rituel de consommation. Cela passe évidemment par l'Histoire. C'est cette ouverture vers le mythe Absinthe qui donne une dimension à un produit que les non-initiés auraient tendance à ranger sur les rayons au même titre que les autres. L'Absinthe n'est pas un produit banal et c'est là que réside tout le challenge.

I started with several intimate bar trainings at the amazingly cool Qbara followed by the slick GQ Bar. The Absinthe Master Classes lasted up to two hours - covering everything including tastings and cocktails and my work with the French Absinthe museum in Auvers-sur-Oise. Then a class at MMI Bar Academy run by Nick Ord and Rebecca Sturt - over 75 people in attendance from Dubai Bars scene, helping lead to better service and information for consumers on real Absinthe.
That evening we ended up in the exclusive Atmosphere Lounge Bar on the 123 floor of the Burj Khalifa to drink La Fée sour’s watch the sunset – wow!
The following day we traveled to Abu Dhabi visiting Spinneys distribution to educate their team - lovely facilities and high Absinthe interest. This was followed by a training at the opulent Pearls & Caviar, Shangri~La and then across to Turquoiz Beach & Lounge at St Regis with its white sands beach bar, restaurant and lounge. Staying that evening for ladies night and continue our education to the guests with such delights as The Flying French Man.
Our next scheduled Master Class Tour is Australia – Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney in a few months
